Sodium Palmate- Soap made from Palm Oil and sodium hydroxide (lye)
Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil - Vegetable oil obtained from the seeds of the Ricinus
Communis plant.
Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil- Vegetable oil obtained from the seeds of the
Carthamus Tinctorius plant.
Glycerin- Glycerin is a “good”  by-product of soap making.  Vegetable oils are fatty esters in the
form of triglycerides. The alkali (lye) breaks the ester bond and releases the fatty acid and glycerol
(glycerin).

- is a sugar alcohol (same as the sugar substitute in candy) used as a thickener. It is found
naturally in various berries and fruits.
Sorbitan Oleate-the anhydride form of sorbitol (it’s just dehydrated sorbitol), whose fatty acids are
lipophilic (meaning combines with fat) whereas sorbitol body  is hydrophilic (meaning combines with
water). Used as a surfactant (bubbles).
Glycine Soja (Soybean) Protein- Soybeans are the only common plant food that contain complete
protein. Soybean protein provides all the essential amino acids in the amounts needed for human
health. The amino acid profile of soy protein is nearly equivalent in quality to meat, milk and egg
protein.
